So slowly you think nothing has changed.
But every time you look up, it’s different.
Stillness and motion at once.
That’s the life we design for.
For people who live between different worlds
Not between East and West . though sometimes that too. Between the person you are at
work and the person you are at home. Between the city you grew up in and the one you
chose. Between the meeting you just left and the studio you’re walking into.
The engineer who paints on weekends. The executive who grew up between two cultures.
The person who moves through different versions of their life in a single day and doesn’t
want to simplify who they are just to get dressed.
You don’t choose one world. You carry both.
moonstop is clothing for that person , not a uniform for one world, not a costume for
another, but something that moves with you across all of them.
How we make things
moonstop was founded in Beijing in 2014, now based in Philadelphia.
Every piece begins with the material , silk, cashmere, linen, Dong ethnic cloth, Tibetan yak wool. Fabrics that have their own memory, their own relationship with time.
The design is quiet and deliberate. The structure is considered, the details are intentional, and nothing announces itself. We design around the body in motion, not around trends.
We’ve been doing this for twelve years. We’re still learning.
What we believe
A well made piece of clothing should last long enough to tell a story. Every moonstop piece comes with free tailoring, repair, and alteration for life. We recycle and recreate imperfect , and leftover materials rather than discarding them.
We make less. We make it better.
The moon doesn’t stop. Neither do we.
